Autumn Photography using Thumbnail copies

As a Photographer, I am very proud of my work, and at times my ego forces me to show off a few of my favorite shots.

When i feel this overpowering need, I will take a few of my favorite photographs and place thumbnail copies onto a hub written to a certain theme.

This small collection of my photography is one such hub. i hope that you enjoy the colors and how the pictures support the general theme of the beauty of Autumn in the Lynchburg and Forest areas of Virginia.

AUTUMN IN FOREST, VA

Forest VA, is essentially a Post Office location on the eastern side of the city of Lynchburg, VA. Over the last couple of decades, it has grown tremendously with the addition of; Sub-Divisions, schools, restaurants, and retail establishments.

But, the great thing about Forest is that there are still numerous back roads in this area of BEDFORD COUNTY where you can take leisurely drives and enjoy some beautiful scenery and in the, FALL, some great color.

In case you didn't know, Forest gets it's name from POPLAR FOREST, which was the summer home of Thomas Jefferson.

Everyone knows about Monticello, from their history books, but over the years I have been surprised by how many people know very little or even nothing about Poplar Forest.

Anyway, As you can see by the pictures attached, Forest, and Lynchburg, are essentially in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and they, and the local scenery provide a beautiful Natural combination when you lift your head towards the Mountains.

What a View!

The sad thing is that I took this shot with my back about 3-feet off of the road, with bumber-to-bumper traffic flying by me.

Everyone was in that big hurry you get in when you are on your way home from work, or to work, or to/from Lunch, or wherever,

Not one person slowed down and looked at this beautiful view. ..... No Time I guess!

One guy actually blew his horn at me ..... I guess he thought I would commit suicide by jumping in front of his car? Oh Well!

Farm land again at road Junction

I just kept walking down the edge of the road, and taking shots like this and the others.

What great colors! What a great view, even without the Autumn colors!

This land just sits there by the busiest intersection in Forest, with cars whizzing by by the thousands daily, with only the occasional glance towards it's beauty.

Country Road near Forest in Autumn

OK, I took this shot in the evening on a twisting Country Road.

Helen and I were driving around, and came around a turn in a very twisty country road.

And there was this beautiful shot, just waiting for me and my camera.

So I stopped, pulled off the road and stared for several minutes before I could gather myself and take the shot.

BWD, thanks for the compliment on the pics, but living in CT, i am sure that you see such shots all of the time. And the darned weather sure can make a difference in what you get to enjoy when it comes to the local foliage. Anyway, thanks again for teh comment.
